Skagit County, Washington Inmate Search
An inmate search in Skagit County accesses the county’s public jail roster to determine if a person is in jail. The search is the gateway through which the public can access the record of an individual currently in law enforcement custody. All individuals arrested in Skagit County are held at the Skagit County Community Justice Center, which is the primary jail in the county overseen by the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
Generally, an inmate search helps family members confirm the status of a loved one who was apprehended by law enforcement. It also helps victims ascertain the status of a perpetrator and ensures accountability and transparency within the detention system.

Jail Facility Overview in Skagit County
The Skagit County Community Justice Center is the primary jail facility in Skagit County and is overseen by the Corrections Division of the Sheriff’s Office. The Center is a modern 100,000-square-foot facility that was opened in October 2017 and was designed to address severe overcrowding in the previous downtown jail.
The Justice Center has an inmate capacity of 400 and has a medical facility, a courtroom, rehabilitation programs, and administrative offices. There are currently no active municipal jails in Skagit County; all local jurisdictions utilize the Community Justice Center as the central detention hub. This centralized jail structure stems from a 1980 state mandate that prohibited municipalities from having their own jails in exchange for funding to build the county jail.

Individuals are generally allowed to visit their loved ones who are incarcerated in the Skagit County Community Justice Center. Visits at the jail are entirely video-based (meaning contact visitation is not offered) and may be conducted on-site via the video kiosks at the jail or off-site at the visitor’s preferred location. On-site visitations are free but are limited to one visit per week, while remote visits cost a fee but have no weekly limit.
Before a person can visit an inmate, either on-site or remotely, they have to schedule the visit. Youths under 18 are not allowed to register for an account or schedule visits with the vendor.
Inmate visits must be scheduled at least a day ahead of time, but no more than 14 days in advance, and should be scheduled for the inmate’s timeout period (review the schedule on the Jail Visitation page). Visits scheduled outside this period will be canceled, and a refund will not be issued.
